Get up close and personal to some beautiful wildlife on these Stellenbosch wine farms
Villiera Game Drive
Together with two neighbours, Villiera set aside 230 Ha of land to form a Wildlife Sanctuary for game. These conservation efforts take place alongside a determined indigenous tree-planting project. Over 100,000 indigenous trees have been planted to green fallow land and to mitigate our carbon footprint.
The Sanctuary includes 12 dams plus marsh areas which attract a huge variety of bird-life. Indigenous trees are grown in old milk containers, plastic water bottles etc. by their staff and then bought from them when a year old and planted out. Thousands of indigenous trees have also been donated by the Cape Garden Centre.
Several mammals have been introduced in the Wildlife Sanctuary:
Springbuck, Kudu, Giraffe, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Bush Pig, Burchell’s Zebra, common Duiker, Steenbuck, Waterbuck and Grysbok.

Vredenheim Big Cat Park & Animal Farm
The Big Cats Park is fully approved by Cape Nature and currently home to 2 brown lions, 1 white lion, 1 black leopard, 1 African leopard and 3 Bengal tigers of which there are 2 white ones. Not to be missed is the feeding of the big cats which happens at 15h00.

At the Vredenheim Animal Farm, children can play in the play park which includes a bike track, jungle gym and sandpit. They can also meet a variety of adorable farm animals and get the opportunity to feed some of them.

While the parents play, the kids can play harder in the Koelenhof play area! For only R40 per child, your bundle of joy will gain access to our play area.
To improve the safety of your little ones, the play area is surrounded by a secure clearview fence to keep toddlers from wandering off. The open layout of the KOEL-tainer area also makes keeping an eye on the kids easy.
Parents can finally unwind and enjoy their time at Koelenhof’s KOEL-tainer, knowing that their little ones are happily engaged in the dedicated play area.

Visit Soetmelksvlei
