Izette Roos and Martli Jansen van Rensburg will be showing at Is Art Gallery from the 5 August. Where a plant sprouts, there is the beginning of a new life. A sprout begins with a seed at first, a type of hope, something that is inanimate at first, but the host for potential. With the right circumstances, the seed sprouts and new life begins. The inanimate become animated, the seemingly dead becomes alive. These are the themes invoked by the collective work by glass blower Martli Jansen van Rensburg and sculptor Izette Roos.
