Here are some of our favourites:
1. Coetzenburg Hike
A Stellenbosch classic! Winding up through gentle foothills and offering sweeping views over town and vineyards, Coetzenburg is beloved for its accessibility and proximity to the university.
2. 1st & 2nd Waterfall Hike (Jonkershoek)
Follow the Eerste River through lush indigenous forest as you journey to Jonkershoek’s famous waterfalls. This 5.2 km round trip showcases tranquil pools for a summer dip, fynbos in bloom, and river crossings that make it an adventure for all ages.
3. Panorama Hike (Jonkershoek)
Jonkershoek’s Panorama Hike is unbeatable for the especially courageous trail-seeker. This challenging loop climbs to over 1,000 metres elevation, tracing ridges and valleys for spellbinding views across the Cape Winelands.
4. Kylemore Ostrich Kloof Waterfall Hike (Banhoek)
Tucked in the Banhoek Conservancy, this hidden gem leads adventurers through zig-zagging paths, riverbeds, and spellbinding valley scenery to a series of cascading waterfalls. Pack your camera and sense of wonder; the final waterfall is a scene straight from a storybook.
5. Simonsberg Silvermine Caves Hike (Pniel)
Unleash your inner explorer in the mysterious Silvermine caves high in the Simonsberg mountains.
